This extremely rare Ayrton Senna cap, worn and signed during the 1994 Formula 1 season, represents a significant piece of motorsport history. Featuring the iconic NACIONAL sponsor logo, the cap is directly linked to Senna’s final year in F1—a season forever marked by his untimely death at Imola. Senna is widely regarded as one of the greatest drivers in the sport’s history, known for his unmatched skill, fierce determination, and deep commitment to excellence on and off the track.
What sets this piece apart is its provenance from the personal collection of Nigel Stepney, a respected figure in F1 who worked with Senna during his time at Lotus. Stepney’s decades-long career in Formula 1 included technical and engineering roles with several top teams, making him a trusted insider within the sport’s inner circle. Accompanied by its original Letter of Authenticity, this cap offers not only historical relevance but also a verifiable connection to both Senna and Stepney. Artifacts with such direct lineage and authenticity are exceptionally scarce.
Ayrton Senna, arguably the greatest F1 driver of them all, drove a total of 161 Grands Prix, amassing an impressive 41 wins throughout his career. Ayrton drove for McLaren between 1988 and 1993 winning the F1 World Championships in 1988, 1990 and 1991. Ayton Senna is considered one of the most iconic F1 racer of all time.
