This extremely rare Ayrton Senna helmet is autographed directly on the helmet's crown. A perfect Ayrton Senna autograph in silver paint pen. The 1987 Team LOTUS artwork was painted by Sid Mosca in Brazil. Mosca was Senna's original painter and passed away in 2011. Mosca painted the iconic Senna colors on an original BELL helmet, the same brand that Senna used to wear.
This rare helmet comes originally from the C Hicks's collection.
Hicks, from the UK, used to work for Team Lotus from the middle of the 1970s to the late 1980s as a mechanic and tire man. He was with the team throughout Senna's tenure, as detailed in his original LOA that comes with the helmet. Hicks had this Bell helmet painted personally and Ayrton signed the helmet specifically on the 11th of July, 1992 at Silverstone shortly after he qualified in P3.
An item that is very rare to find in the modern days. The helmet is accompanied by an original Letter of Authenticity (LOA) that will be disclosed to the new owner. F
